Terms of use
The rules for using the hosted LiveShortly service at liveshortly.com. By signing in you agree to them. If you run your own server, these terms don't apply to it; the open-source licence in each repository does.
Owner to confirm: the legal entity offering the service, governing law and jurisdiction, disclaimer and limitation-of-liability wording, the minimum age, and how changes to these terms are announced. These are not written here because they need a legal decision.
The service#
LiveShortly lets you stream sessions of coding agents you run on your own machines to a web page, share them, publish them, and replay them. The live CLI and the server are open source. The hosted service is free to use, within the limits below.
Your account#
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure; anything done with your account is your responsibility.
- One person per account. Don't share your sign-in or CLI credentials.
- You can sign out any CLI from Settings or with
live logout.
Your content#
- Your sessions belong to you. You keep all rights to what you stream: prompts, code, output and everything else in a session.
- To run the service we need to store, process and show your sessions to the people you choose. You give us permission to do that, only for running LiveShortly. When you make a session public, open or publish it, you allow anyone who can see it to watch and replay it there.
- When someone forks a session they can read, they get a new session of their own that starts from a digest of yours. Only make sessions readable to people you are comfortable continuing from them.
- Deleting a session removes it from the service. See Privacy.
Publishing rules#
Don't stream, share or publish:
- secrets, credentials or keys, yours or anyone else's;
- personal data about other people without the right to share it;
- code or content you don't have the right to share (for example an employer's private repository, without permission);
- malware, or sessions built to attack systems you don't own or have permission to test;
- illegal content, harassment, hate or sexual content involving minors;
- spam, or sessions made to mislead viewers (for example impersonating someone else).
Viewer messages follow the same rules. We may unpublish or remove sessions, and suspend accounts, that break these rules.
Owner to confirm: how people report a session, and the review and appeal process.
Acceptable use#
- Don't try to get around access controls, limits or rate limits, or access sessions you haven't been given.
- Don't overload the service, or scrape it beyond normal use of the feed and pages.
- Security research is welcome within our security policy.
Limits#
The hosted service has per-account limits, currently 100 MB of stored session data, 10 live sessions at once, and 256 KB per event. When you reach the storage limit, the running session ends and you can continue it in a new one after freeing space. See Pricing.
Availability#
The hosted service is provided as it is, without an uptime guarantee. It may be interrupted for maintenance or fail. live is built so your agent keeps working when the service is down; only the stream is lost. We may change, limit or stop features, and we'll say so in the changelog.
Owner to confirm: notice period before the hosted service is shut down or its limits are reduced, and whether users get an export.
Ending#
You can stop using LiveShortly at any time and delete your sessions. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
